Carl Landry agrees to a four year, $26 million contract with the Sacramento Kings and will be reunited in Sacramento with coach Mike Malone. Malone was the assistant with the Warriors the past two seasons.
The 29-year-old Landry averaged 10.8 points and six rebounds in 23.2 minutes off the bench to help the Warriors reach the second round of the playoffs last season. He opted out of the final year of his two-year, $8 million deal with Golden State last month to become a free agent.
The Kings recently lost their franchise player in free agency, Tyreke Evans, but adding Landry is a good first step in the right direction. The Kings will have plenty of talent in the center and forward position, their next order of work is to add some talented guards around these players.
