Kristaps Porzingis hosted a youth basketball clinic on Saturday, September 17th in Ardsley, New York. Over 200 kids attended the “Citi Porzingis Basketball Pro-Camp” and the youngsters enjoyed getting to interact with one of their sport idols. Porzingis had a lot of fun with his school-aged fans and was able to show them a thing or two on the court, and it was a fabulous experience for everyone who attended the camp.
The liepaja, Latvia-born athlete started playing basketball from the young age of six, and follow in his older brother’s footsteps of making the sport into a career. Porzingis played on a popular youth team in his hometown in Europe until he was 15, when a scout sent footage of him to team management. He entered the 2015 NBA Draft where he was selected in the first round as the 4th overall pick by the New York Knicks, with whom he still plays with today. After lots of hard work and consistent good moves, Porzingis made his NBA debut in the fall of 2015 in a game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Porzingis recently hosted a youth basketball camp in Ardsley, New York, where over 200 kids showed up to work with the basketball star and practice some of their moves on the court. It was a huge success and hopefully he will return to the area next year.
