The Black Mamba or better known as Kobe Bryant will be cheering his Los Angeles Lakers on the rest of the season and sources confirm he will not return this 2013-2014 season.
With the Lakers having their ups and downs this season many will question why Kobe is on the books and if he is truly worth keeping next season. Back in November, the Los Angeles Lakers signed Bryant to a two-year, $48.5 million contract extension.
With a big free agency summer coming in 2014 and with Phil Jackson making his way to the New York Knicks, what can the Lakers do to turn the team around?
Dare I say the only way they can recover from this mess is to recruit Pat Riley from the Miami Heat and hopefully he can lure some talent to LA.
Since the departure of Phil Jackson, LA has become a place for young players as well as several injury prone veterans to come milk their final years in the NBA.
While the Lakers still are able to pack the house many analyst wonder how long they can keep it up with the way they have been playing this season. Not to mention the weekly conversation of Pau Gasol getting traded or signed is about as old as the Lebron James receding hairline jokes.
So whats next for the Lakers…..
Fire Coach Mike D’Antoni ?
Go after Carmelo Anthony?
Pursue Dirk Nowitzki?
There are a ton of free agents but will they want to sign with LA or look to contend for a championship elsewhere?
