NBA star Steph Curry has recently announced a multi-year sponsorship deal with the biggest U.S. bank, JPMorgan Chase. Curry will be a part of Chase’s “Mastery” campaign that had just launched last year with Serena Williams, and ads with the Warrior should start appearing around the time of late spring to early summer. In addition to this campaign, Chase has other plans for Curry as well, so his fans will be seeing a lot of his face around the banking industry. It wasn’t disclosed how much the deal was for, but some experts suspect that it could be in the ballpark of around $30 million dollars. Since Curry is the hottest athlete in the sports world right now, it only makes sense that Chase would recruit him so that they could mutually benefit from each other during this prime time of his career.
The Akron, Ohio native is the son of former NBA player Dell Curry, and is considered to be one of the best shooters in the history of professional basketball. When he was just a boy, Curry’s father would take him and his brother Seth to basketball games and shoot hoops during warm ups, so it is absolutely clear that the sport has been in his life since he was born. During his high school years, Curry led his team to three national championships that ended up helping him get the opportunity to attend Davidson College on an athletic scholarship. He then entered the 2009 NBA draft where he was selected in the first round as the seventh overall pick by the Golden State Warriors with whom he still plays and thrives with today. The three-time NBA All-Star and 2015 NBA Champion has received a lot of praise and attention in the last year especially, and fans expect there will be lots more from him to come.
Just in the last few weeks, Curry has been a true rising star for the Golden State Warriors as he has even been breaking his own records, as he currently already holds the most three-pointers in a single season and still has 24 games left to play. In addition to that, the Warriors are ahead of schedule to break the 1995 Chicago Bulls win record and there is a good chance that he will be able to take his team to the end of the season with breaking that record as well. Aside from partnering with Chase, Curry is also a sponsor for a few other brands including Under Armour, Fanatics, Muscle Milk, JBL, Unilever’s Degree and Kaiser Permanente.
Fans and sports enthusiasts can expect to see a lot more of Steph Curry off the court now that he’s going to be working with Chase in their Mastery campaign, and likely other projects to come.
